Correct. You can do this from the Spelling choice in the Edit menu,
there is an option for opening a dictionary.

have CE
Help work once again!).
If you drop the dictionary and help files into the Claris folder in
your System Folder (the OS 9 one) in OS X (the same place you found
that prefs file), then the spelling and help should both starting
working again on their own. (Help also needs the Help Reader app,
which is likely also in that old Claris folder). If spelling doesn't
start working again on its own after moving the dictionary to the
correct folder, just go to that Open Dictionary option and point it
to the dictionary file, and then you should be fine.
