Have you tried NeoOffice? I'm still relying on Word 5.1a under Classic 
for most of my composing needs, then saving and opening in Office X to 
print (after correcting whatever damage X did). However I'm playing 
around with NeoOffice 2.2.2, and it looks like the thing to use in place 
of the MS offering. It opens slowly -- this is a QuickSilver G4, 733mhz, 
10.4.10 -- but after that it's fine. I've looked at the spreadsheet 
module (can't =stand= the Office X Excel!), and it looks promising. 
However I don't have much need for that right now.
