I'm not sure that's what it was, but . . . I poked around and found that somehow the location of my DLs folder pref in eMailer had been changed, to somewhere else where the file to be unwrapped couldn't. Now why it couldn't be unwrapped I'm not sure, since it seemed to work OK once the prefs pointed back to the usual place. The 'wrong' place was the root of the eMailer folder. The 'right' place is a separate folder one leval above that deicated to DLs. I can't imagine that the file-name-space-bug could be the issue? Well, anyway, thanks y'all for the pointers, I'm now back to seamless eMailer usage once again.
