That will work if you are adding a name manually which is not already in your address book, to a group. But it won't work if you are using the "search" to add an address to a group which IS already in your address book. Check me out on this. The lady who was on the writing team for CE, and was once on this list (forgot her name), did acknowledge that this was an oversight.
