Finally "moving forward." Got a spiffy PowerBook G4 1.67 gh. All set up with three partitions: 10.5.6, 10.4.11, and 9.2.2 for Classic.
I boot 10.4.11, and set Classic to start up right away. I can open and operate all my old Classic programs (Emailer works like a charm), BUT: I got an HP Photosmart C4480 printer and installed it. It prints fine from OSX apps, but I can't figure out how to get it to print from Emailer or any other Classic app. Of course, I can COPY text from a Classic app, PASTE into an OSX app, and print. But I want to print directly from Classic apps in order to maintain the formatting, especially from my Classic page layout program. Trying to print from a Classic app points it to the 9.2.2 Chooser. I'm guessing that the Classic app wants my new printer to be in the 9.2.2 Chooser. I can usually figure my way around things like this, but I'm up a tree this time. SOMEBODY on the list, a more "powerful" user than I, has probably figured out the way around this problem. I'd love to hear from you. I'm probably going to be embarrassed when I find out the "fix," because I can usually get around any problem with enough trial and error.
