I use Optonline as my ISP, and I use my domain email as my FROM address. No
problem here, and I have not had a problem with that for over eight years.

AAMOF, I am surprised that I have been able to send from Optonline SMTP from
some locations when I am not connected to an Optonline pipe. Sometimes that
works, and sometimes that does not work.

I use MS Entourage with OS 10.6.2. I use Mail.app on special occasions,
when I want to dispatch the contents of a web page as it appears on the Web.
Entourage can not do that.

Just to remind folks, I used the following upgrade path way back when.

OS 7, 8, 9  Claris Emailer -> Outlook Express ->
  OS X Entourage 2004 -> Entourage 2008

If you are still running OS 9 (or Classic), and you are still running Claris
Emailer, I would encourage you to consider upgrading to Outlook Express. It
will help you navigate those issues such as setting ports, having multiple
SMTP accounts for different situations, etc.

Importing Claris Emailer database into Outlook Express was easy. Importing
Outlook Express database in Entourage 2004 was easy.

Roger, surprised that I am still reading posts from the Claris Emailer list
all these years later!+
