The System Administrator's role is to ensure the stable operation of the in-house computer software systems and network connections. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all operating systems software and communication links. The person will also analyze and resolve end user software program and connectivity issues in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end user guidance where required. 1. Provide direct support for the Corporate Unix computers. To include supporting day-to-day operations of IBM AIX RS/6000 servers utilizing Power4 and Power5 architecture, LPAR and DLPAR, IBM AIX RS/6000 SP cluster. 2. Provide direct support for storage administration of IBM 2105 ESS, FastT, SSA, EMC DMX and Clariion Arrays. 3. Install, maintain and provide day to day support to IBM TSM as it pertains to backing up Intel, AIX and Oracle environments. 4. Provide direct support of IBM Network Installation Manager. 5. Develop scripts to automate administrative functions (Perl, Korn Shell etc) 6. Develop and Document Standard Operating Procedures. 7. Facilitate and take direct responsibility for the planning, installation, configuration and deployment of AIX based server(s). 8. Provide project support for configuring, installing and developing new UNIX based software solutions. 9. Provide guidance and training for junior staff to develop them as full system administrators. 10. Provide support for development groups on the Michaels UNIX servers. This will include, but is not limited to, support for requests for disk space, network connectivity, special system software (compilers, etc.), system security and backups. 11. Expereince with IBM VIO or VMWARE ESX HS degree or equivalent required; Associates Degree or BA/BS preferred. " 5 years minimum Unix administration experience. " 3 or more years with IBM AIX version of Unix (4.3.x and 5.x) " 1 year minimum experience with IBM Pseries LPAR/DLPAR " 3 years minimum experience with IBM TSM. " 1 year minimum experience with Storage Area Network (SAN) administration " 1 year minimum experience with storage administration of EMC DMX and Clariion arrays from both EMC Control Center (ECC) and the Command Line Interface (CLI) " 1 year minimum experience with EMC TimeFinder " 1 year minimum experience with EMC Control Center 5.x " 1 year plus experience with at least one of the following: HACMP, ESS (Shark), FastT, WebSphere, Tivoli TSM Backup System.
