*Position: *IT/ Programmer - Desktop/ Helpdesk *Location:* Hartford, CT *Duration:* 6 Months *Rate: $30/hr C2C* * * *Job description:* Responsibilities within Desktop Support are for the development and implementation of strategies and common solutions, as well as the support and maintenance of client technologies on workstations and peripherals, with the goal of improving their customers' ability to leverage technology to support the business. The current position available is for a computer build technician in our build center. This individual will be responsible for building computers using *Altiris Deployment Server as well as installing software*. This person will also be responsible for supporting other functions of the build center such as reprovisioning computers for customers to use, inventorying equipment, and replacing hardware in computers such as *memory chips, hard drives and video cards.* This person may also be asked to surplus equipment, wipe hard drives for disposal and stock build center shelves with computer accessories. Further responsibilities may include: Documenting solutions to problems, writing installation guidelines, and educating the client on the computer equipment.
