Jeff, Yes, I very much wanted to be able to use a common interface. I made a post to that effect a while back. I was doing this in parallel with the other changes that had been made to halcmd, and didn't think this program was quite ready for prime time. But since so many things were, or had been changing, I wanted to just get it checked in so that in would stay in synch with the rest of halcmd.
I just combined a bunch of functions for emcsh, emcrsh and emclcd in the emc/usr_intf path, and would like to do the same thing here, but I need it to stay in synch first.
