I've been doing most of the docs lately and any help is welcome. 
Francis does the french translations. The docs can only be edited with lyx 
version 1.3.7 :( so 
that means you have to have Ubuntu 6.06 installed AFAIK. But you might be able 
to force 
the version I don't know.

As for an IDE I've been looking at Code::Blocks for my C++ and it does work for 
me. I don't 
do any of the EMC coding but other small bits for myself... It's a bit of a 
pain to install in 
Ubuntu but it is easy in Windoz... so cross platform is a plus for me as in one 
place I only 
have Windoz machines and in the other mostly Linux machines...
