Eric,
I decided to take a little time and start playing with getting things set up
again for EMC. As a note, 5 or 6 years ago I had emc (v1 and v2) compiling on
gentoo. I just hacked together a new ebuild and discovered the following:
linux-2.6.24 with rtai's hal patch will compile gcc-4.3.3
rtai-3.6.2 will not compile with gcc-4.3.3, but will with gcc-4.1.2
(I happened to have gcc-4.1.2 and gcc-3.4.6 installed)
rtai-snapshot (as of 20090202) compiles with gcc-4.3.3 for both magma
and vulcano with LOTS of warnings. These are probably OK, but that
is part of the ***joys*** of setting this kind of thing up...
This is likely not news to any of the rtai people, but I thought this might
help you as you continue splunking into the bowels of linux kernel building.
more laters,
