I know in the past most of the developers were against having an EMC forum and I'm hoping the tide will turn. As most of you know we have a forum ready to go and it just needs a bit of polish. My thoughts are for an open source software we should have a non- commercial forum for users. New users to EMC site not finding a forum on our web site will do a google search and find the CNCZone. I have nothing against the Zone. I just feel it is the time to turn our forum on and steer new users to a place where we have control over the content. Another advantage to a forum is it is easy to follow a topic. Some developers don't want to "support" another forum. As always anyones support is voluntary. I think that it would be easier to steer "Windoze" users to our forum first and then to our mailing list or the IRC. Also having control of the sections and FAQ's would be a boost to getting folks off to the best start with EMC.
Of course I volunteer to maintain it :). If nothing else perhaps we could turn it on for a while to see how it goes? What do you guys think?
