Neil, I just got a Nokia N900 (see: http://www.nokian900.com/) and was toying with the idea of doing something similar for that. It uses Linux Maemo which is a Debian derivative and completely open source. I don't really know much about development for the iPhone (other than the n900 kicks its butt <g>) or Maemo for that matter, but if there were a means of supporting both, that would give it wider appeal.
Regards, Eric I'm interested in being able to use the iPhone as a UI for EMC. Before I go ahead and reinvent the wheel, I'd like to check whether anyone else is working on anything similar. My plan is to use OSC as the messaging protocol. This would enable the use of the existing TouchOSC iPhone application which is currently used to control music synthesizers in real time. There are other similar iPhone apps, but this is the one I have experience with. There are existing OSC libraries that are well tested and stable. Any comments, pointers, or suggestions would be welcome. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Verizon Developer Community Take advantage of Verizon's best-in-class app development support A streamlined, 14 day to market process makes app distribution fast and easy Join now and get one step closer to millions of Verizon customers http://p.sf.net/sfu/verizon-dev2dev _______________________________________________ Emc-developers mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/emc-developers
