At first glance, I can't tell whether your patches are right. When putting patches in sf tracker items, please use "git diff" or "diff -up" to generate "unified diffs", and attach them instead of pasting them inline. Your patches can't be applied because sf mangled the contained whitespace, they don't provide context for me to see what lines are changed, and it looks like one of them is reversed (showing added lines as removed lines and vice versa), but I can't tell for sure.
I *do* think you're generally on the right track of a real problem. Attach the patches in this thread if you prefer it to dealing with sf.
