There is a way to run interactive programs from a script, where you call the interactive program, you specify how many lines below it are replies to the program. So, it could be done fairly easily. But, what I DID DO works fine as a complete program, but the run from line does something quite different. I at least wanted to make this anomaly available if anyone wanted to investigate. I'm up to my neck in work right now, and just don't have time to dig into it.
