Hello all,

I am new to this list, hopefully I am going about this the correct way
(please tell me if otherwise!!)
I am fairly new to CNC but am catching on quickly. I am an IT guy by day,
with a huge background in electronics and a very light background in
programming. I built a Solsylva 25"x25" wood router machine from plans over
the Thanksgiving holiday and have been running it with EMC2 with fantastic
success. Using Sheetcam mostly as my CAM. After Christmas, I built my own
design 4'x4' plasma table. Rack and pinion on all 3 axis. I have everything
dialed in very well, but am having a really bad time with a config problem.
I based my initial configs off of the THC300 sample configs by Jarl
Stephenson. I have added debounce, gotten all the other stuff working to
convert this config to work with a CandCNC LCTHC controller, and all that is
working well. Problem I am having is when the spindle is turned on, the
"touch and go" portion of the config that "finds" the top of the material by
lowering the Z axis until float switch activation is completely ignoring the
MAX VELOCITY in the .ini file! It obeys it while cutting, while homing,
while jogging, just not during the probe.

I have quite a long thread in the forums that probably best describes all
that has gone on between myself and BigJohnT. I also went seeking help at
CNCzone to no avail. I seem to have stumped everyone. I have contacted
Jarl as well but he is too busy at the moment to look over my configs. After
speaking with several folks that own hobby CNC businesses, they have all
suggested I contact the developers on this one, so this is my attempt.

Probably easisest to point you to the thread:

also, some videos are posted later in the thread here:
http://www.linuxcnc.org/component/option,com_kunena/Itemid,20/func,view/id,9070/catid,10/limit,6/limitstart,12/lang,en/#9237

I am happy to share my configs if someone would be kind enough to let me
know the etiquette for doing so... didn't want to assume it was ok to post
those straight to the list!

Many thanks for any suggestions, comments, or even flaming reminders of how
to use this list :-)
