Jon, this sequence of commits makes me think you're not test-building your 
changes on your machine, and instead pushing to the main repo and letting the 
buildbot build as your test.  Is that true?

If so, I request that you change your work flow.  The work flow above means we 
get a bunch of untested commits in our set-in-stone history, and that's not 
optimal.  "git push" shouldn't happen until you have something that you're 
pretty happy with and that you're pretty confident will be an improvement for 
everyone.
