I dont think that should go into 2.5.x barring Chris thinks otherwise - I'd consider that release feature-frozen; bleeding-edge and stable are a bit like hot icecream. I would expect somebody else to build this branch from source, and verify it does the right thing, after which I'd push it into master; post-push the buildbot packages should be available.
