I'm attempting to build linuxcnc from source.

I've checked out the v2.5.1 tag and run configure with the simulator enabled:

./configure --enable-simulator

The configure completes with no visible errors, so next I do:

make

The build chugs along for a while and then fails at:

Creating abs.mak
make: ***No rule to make target 'objects/hal/utils/comp.py', needed
by '../bin/comp'. Stop.

Any ideas on what might be causing this? Missing package that
configure doesn't test for, ... ?

Thanks,

Steve
