/I would like to get LinuxCNC to install on Squeeze but it looks like the wiki page: http://wiki.linuxcnc.org/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?Debian_Squeeze_Compile_RTAI is a paste from the Lenny page and is not done yet. The page looks complete but actually has a lot of the Lenny configuration that does not work with Squeeze. If someone has gotten LinuxCNC to work with Squeeze, I would love to collaborate to get the wiki page finished. My current road block is the lack of patch files for installing RTAI. I can go through the RTAI documentation and figure it out, maybe, but if someone already knows how to do this, or do RTAI installation in general, we can save some time./
Hi Kirk Only saw this today when I was working my way through old emails. I have built RTAI kernels for both Lenny and Squeeze and built EMC against them. I still have them installed on my machine, looks like I used 2.6.32 for Squeeze and 2.6.26 for Lenny, but you should be able to go to 2.6.38 on Squeeze, that was the latest kernel with working magma / rtai patches last time I tried it. I don't know if I will have what you want, I just downloaded the kernel, magma and emc sources and built them. I didn't use kpkg or module-assistant, have never seen the point. This was at least a year ago, so might have to repeat it all to log the stages and packages required. Let me know if this helps regards ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Everyone hates slow websites. So do we.
