Dewey got it to work as well with that image, so it was a plain missing driver 
issue

just noting that the Xenomai folks are working on pre-build debian kernels, and 
John is on the case over at the xenomai mailing list, so there's a chance 
something 'stock' coming out of this without us building kernel images for 
linuxcnc

next target - get to run it well; we'll get there
