This is just an update on my progress or lack thereof in trying to get lcnc running on the Olinuxino, which I mentioned a short time ago on the emc-users list. I don't expect there is much at this point in common with other ARM developments, but I am certainly open to "speculation".
Unfortunately I have not been able to even get a stock Debian to boot. I contacted the manufacturer, who believed the problem was with the SD port, so I ordered a second board. I also ordered their prebuilt bootable Debian SD, but had the same problem with the second board, including not being able to boot to the prebuilt SD. The A13-Olinuxino-wifi is recommended for development and includes Android in NAND. This boots just fine on both boards, however if I install an SD it reports damaged SD. I have tested a total of 5 SDs from four manufacturers and been assured that at least Sandisk and Samsung are known to work. The prebuilt Debian SD is a 2GB Sandisk. Based on responses on the forums, I have also tried four different power supplies, but observe no operational difference between any of them. If this means anything to those working on the Beaglebone, the boot messages I get through the serial port are: Prebuilt SD ------------- U-Boot SPL 2012.10-rc1-03956-gd7ea23d (Oct 11 2012 - 15:48:58) MMC: SUNXI SD/MMC: 0 Loading U-Boot... ### ERROR ### Please RESET the board ### Imaged SD ------------ U-Boot SPL 2012.10-04266-g20efdee-dirty (Jan 08 2013 - 16:20:29) DRAM: 512MB SUNXI SD/MMC: 0 sp1: mmc blk read err - 0 ### ERROR ### Please RESET the board ### I will be in contact with the manufacturer this week.
