I gave a talk on the Portable RTAPI as implemented in the Unified Binary branch 
of LinuxCNC. It was attended by some 40-50 people.

Alex Rössler joined me with his MendelMax 3D printer and gave several 
well-attended demonstrations sporting the BeagleBone port driving the printer:

I found several people to review the LinuxCNC future middleware architecture 
since this is a common theme; I got some valuable feedback and was able to 
draft a very qualified reviewer for a critical piece of code.
