similar issue: 

C++ in-kernel is a no-go

C++ in userland RT modules - maybe workable but probably some features will 
likely get in the way: dynamic memory allocation, exceptions

One could adopt a coding style which is basically C disguised as C++ but 
transliterating to C is the safest route
