Greetings; Since I find myself doing more carving in mm's than inches, I figured I may as well reconfigure it to run in mm's natively. Seemed like a good idea at the time.
I went thru the .ini file, changing all distances and vels by multiplying them by 25.4, hopefully so the native DRO would show in mm's. Then the scales for the two axis's were divided by 25.4 to convert from inchs to mm's. But despite its "linear" now being mm as opposed to inch, the DRO's are best described as AFU, and the maxvel shown at the bottom left panel is in mm's per minute, a very large number of them, like 470000. And I still have to switch the DRO to mm's on startup. And yes, I am using a position.txt. So its obvious I missed something. The X dro, is just a blur at quite low speeds and my X has about 3" total movement range, but is claiming its moved a quite large number of mm's, over 200mm in about 1". Since all my Merican dial indicators are in inches, I will set one of the non-continuous jogs to be 25.4mm, or 1 inch, and will try to make sense out of what a 1", 10 turn dial reports tomorrow. I was hurting so bad when I called it quits tonight that I wasn't thinking with clarity. I felt pretty good last Thursday, a day after some nerve block shots, but each day since its hurting worse. By this Thursday I'll be back to about where I started. Cheers, Gene -- "There are four boxes to be used in defense of liberty: soap, ballot, jury, and ammo.
