you know, I have always questioned the quality of any code base that did not have a make uninstall, much less installing outside --prefix (kernel modules and /etc configure not withstanding)... I find it annoying enough that I'll help take a look at sorting that out after my work trip next January or February. Until then I have a major project due and a thesis to complete. Give me a poke the end of next January.
