I have an 18 key wireless MPG (xhc-hb04) that seems to be misbehaving. 1 -- When the axis selector knob is turned to A, it continuously outputs the same code (04 00 00 28 00 0C). It does not do the for any of the other five positions.
2 -- It seems to go to sleep and then doesn't wake up. Hitting keys doesn't seem to help. The last time it announced something about Sleep 8 seconds. It then stopped responding and the MPG screen went blank. Pounding on the keys (perhaps my imagination, but the reset key had the most effect) caused the display to flash on for a second, then off again. I did not get a "Wake" message, though. (This is as reported by xhc-hb04 in standalone mode.) Has anyone seen this before? I read a comment by Dewey that the MPG sleeps if inactive for 40 seconds. He suggested having an unbound key that can be pressed to wake it. Since in standalone mode, I don't have any keys bound, I should be able to press any to wake it up. That doesn't seem to work. I'm wondering though if a solution to the wake issue might be to output something to the MPG. That might wake it up. I'm not a github user. Can anyone tell me if: http://git.linuxcnc.org/gitweb?p=linuxcnc.git;a=blob_plain;f=src/hal/user_comps/xhc-hb04.cc;hb=c4ea03c235523f857a5da47962cba23c6876d4a9 would be the current source. In looking at it, I find the indentation to be nasty. I know that changing it causes differences that aren't functional to show up, but there are areas that are really tough to read. For example: //---------KL------nasty if (simu_mode) linuxcnc_simu(&xhc); handle_step(&xhc); xhc_set_display(dev_handle, &xhc); //---------KL-------end nasty The indication would indicate that all there lines are subject to the if. Of course, only the first one is. So,the key questions are: 1 -- Has anyone seen this before? 2 -- Is the device defective?
