To an extent the LinuxCNC Touchy GUI allows it. In that you can select the "jog" button to activate the MPG in jogging mode in any tab, including the MDI tab. Touchy also has another handy feature, but apparently an accidental one. If you start the spindle in the manual tab, then go to MDI, jog to the start point, type an MDI (like G1 F50 X100) then you can press the jog button during the feed move and the move stops, but the spindle/coolant stay on. I found this by accident, but it is super convenient for a lot of the "improvisational machining' that I do. I can type in an over-length feed then stop it near where I want to be, then jog-feed to the final position without having to re-start the spindle/coolant. -- atp If you can't fix it, you don't own it. http://www.ifixit.com/Manifesto ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Site24x7 APM Insight: Get Deep Visibility into Application Performance APM + Mobile APM + RUM: Monitor 3 App instances at just $35/Month Monitor end-to-end web transactions and take corrective actions now Troubleshoot faster and improve end-user experience.
