My milling machine has a tilting head, and no quill. https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-2met9ZAaN7o/Uee9DqTEvbI/AAAAAAAAEmk/_JqVnQ2-zXk/w634-h845-no/IMG_0437.jpg
I have a need to drill an angled hole, and so I have been thinking about using 5axis kins to allow me to drill along a virtual W axis. The idea is to have a dummy B-axis with command looped to feedback, then I can G0 that axis to the actual angle that the head is set to. However, the mill uses Touchy, and as far as I can see Touchy has no way to switch between world and joint mode. I think this means that Touchy is thus limited to KINEMATICS_IDENTITY. So, is it possible to have a trivial tilted-head kins? Not the end of the world if not, I can do a coordinated move in XZ using a calculator and trigonometry. -- atp If you can't fix it, you don't own it. http://www.ifixit.com/Manifesto ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Transform Data into Opportunity.
