It is a choice between coordinated movement and speed. I put gap control in motor controller and gain speed but loose coordinated movement, at least within 1ms period. It would obviously be possible to get both but not that easy. 1kHz is what linuxcnc servo control loop do and 40kHz is what motor control servo loop do.
