Greetings folks; I went out to see if I could move a copy of the spindle tack display code over to the Sheldon and its r-pi this morning.
But the keyboards, I've tried 2 now, and have rebooted, have decided the single quote and the double quote (needed frequently to carve some xml code) are now only typeable by first pressing the right alt key, left doesn't work, otherwise you type a ' and get a blank, no response, so you hit it again and get a forward tick, the opposite of the ` under the esc key. Has anyone else with an uptodate r-pi noticed this? The mouse and keyboard prefs don't have a way to change the keyboards LANG, which is en_us-UTF-8. For some reason LOCALE is not set. I found /etc/locale.gen, which was correct, and it said to run locale-gen, so I did, took 5 seconds or so, but I still do not have a LOCALE in my ssh login env. /etc/X11/xkb is an empty file. But its empty here too. And this keyboard works correctly when logged in with ssh to the pi. Clues anybody?, my trail has run cold.
