If you're at the front page of the repo (https://github.com/LinuxCNC/linuxcnc) look at the left for "Branch: master ▼" just below where it says "1x,xxx commits". Click it open, then choose the branch you want.

You can also do it just by entering a URL, e.g., to view the 2.7 branch:
https://github.com/LinuxCNC/linuxcnc/tree/2.7

or to see a commit-based view instead of a tree-based view click "1x,xxx commits" button or go to e.g.:
https://github.com/LinuxCNC/linuxcnc/commits/2.7
