Greetings all; I don't know, but suspect I am the only one determined enough to run big machinery with a pi, but I have made up an iso.gz of the raspian-stretch-full install, and it suffers done of the foibles I've had with the jessie install I've run for the past 2 years. In my test runs over the last two days, no new bugs, but one odd old one thats existed since at least 2.6 in linuxcnc, and its a rare bird.
Built from the latest (april-2019) release of raspian, converted to a realtime preempt kernel by the RealtimePi utility. Latency for the 1ms servo thread is pretty stable at 28 to 29 microseconds, plenty good enough if using a Mesa card. Not good enough for full speed software stepping. But its also a lot better than the 70 some microseconds the older rt kernel in the jessie install checked in with. You can get the image with a .gz tag at <http://geneslinuxbox.net:6309/gene/Genes-os9-stf/LCNC/debian-stretch-armhf/> Where you'll need the "raspian-stretch-full.gz" for the image to gunzip and write to a 32 or 64GB u-sd. There are also 2 day old builds of a git clone of master as: linuxcnc-doc-en_2.9.0~pre0_all.deb linuxcnc-uspace-dev_2.9.0~pre0_armhf.deb The other languages that come with a git clone are also there.
