I don't have much pull here, and I've been expecting some breakage of the gui (axis in this case) when it happens. So while I'm not looking forward to an extended breakdown, it seems to me that the python version s/b frozen at whatever is in debian 10 for python 3 because that is tracked by raspbian. My rpi4 currently has 3.7.3-1. Not the latest but it has had time to settle a bit. I'd suggest first, doing away with python3 to 2 translations currently used, one at a time and fixing that breakage as it comes up. But what do I know. I'm not a pythom coder & never will be. But while I can always revert to 2.8, I don't think I'm doing anything the 2.8 can't do, I do enjoy playing the coal mines canary if you will let me. Take care and stay well everybody.
