Is that the case in the officially distributed preempt kernels? If so,
then we might have a problem looming.
Yes, I downloaded the 2.8.2 iso last week, and had a bunch
of parport issues. These may not be related to that, I'm
still trying to figure out why MOSCHIP MCS990x cards don't
work at all with that download.
I get this from sudo lspci -vv:
02:00.0 Parallel controller: MosChip Semiconductor
Technology Ltd. MCS9900 Multi-I/O Controller (prog-if 03
[IEEE1284])
Subsystem: Device a000:2000
I believe the card is supposed to report vendor ID 9710
product ID 9900, so it may be that the serial PROM that
holds the PCI enumeration data may be loaded with
different/wrong values.
This a000:2000 lists as
Asix Electronics Corporation (Wrong ID)
on devicehunt. So, I don't know what all that means, but it
sure looks like somebody did something wrong. I think all
the MOSCHIP cards I have now give this result.
I'm accumulating a bunch of computer boxes and parport cards
testing all this.
Jon
