Normally I wouldn't consider this, but chip shortages mean that the only readily-available Mesa card at the moment is the 7i86S. (The good news is that it is a good option for many stepper systems)
I have cherry-picked the changes needed to make it work with 2.8.3 in the branch "outm_for_2.8" and initial tests by people who actually have a 7i86S look promising (I don't have one to test with) What do the more experienced release managers think of this?
