Hello all,

I am having a bit of trouble trying to evaluate the 'best' method or
  acceptable method of earth grounding.

Primary earth wire (green w/yellow strip) is first going to a pillar type
terminal on the chassis from the a.c. filter. For a good mechanical
connection, first goes on a star washer, earth lug, then nut. How many
other system ground connections (green only) can I stack on top of the
earthing connection? And, is there a particular standard that defines how
earthing connections are to be made?

EN60950 does not appear to be very detailed in this matter (sections 2.5.8,
  3.3.3 and 3.3.6).

I personally recommend to company engineers that the earth ground
connection have its own pillar terminal. And all other ground wires start
from a second pillar terminal near the first. Thereby, during servicing,
the earth ground protection remains undisturbed. However, if two terminals
are not feasible, do not go above three stacked connections on one
terminal, each having their own star washer and nut. The earth ground
connection is always the first to be put on and the last to be taken off.
Am I just following some old bygone method of grounding, that has worked
well so far? Or has the rules changed for added construction flexibility?

  Thanks in advance.
