Brief Synopsis: "Electromagnetic Field Hazards Revisited - Concern with biological hazards of electromagnetic fields has slipped from the front pages of the newspaper during the past year and seems to have been replaced by fear of interference of cellular telephones with implanted cardiac pacemakers and defibrillators. However, biological effects are not being ignored. In recent papers, researchers try to answer: Do cellular phones cause brain tumors? Do laptop computers cause testicular cancer? Does the earth's magnetic field have a synergistic effect with 60 Hz fields? At the April 23, 1996 meeting of the PSTC, Dr. Dan Weinberg will try to put into perspective some recent studies on effects of electromagnetic fields." Dr. Dan Weinberg has been a long supporter of PSTC and has delivered a number of presentations dealing with ELF, including effects of ELF from power lines. This presentation should be very informative, not only from a product safety standpoint, but for the general public. Regards. Edward Karl Vice-Chairperson 408 563-7184 Santa Clara Valley Chapter of the PSTC
