I agree with 99.9% of the recent note from Rich Nute regarding the competancy
and morals of CENELEC BT.

I disagree with a technical point. Rich states that his products are less than
75 watts and therefore Class A. This is not correct....

The exact words are...

"For Class D equipment, the limits of harmonic currents are defined for the
rated load condition. The Harmonics of the input current shall not exceed
the values that can be derived from table 3.

The limits given in table 3 are valid for all applications having an active
input power >75 W. No limits apply for equipment up to and including 75 W.
This lower limit of 75 W will be reduced to 50 W four years after the
implementation of this standard."

The issue to me is, the serious difference between 'no limits apply' and 'Class
A limits' apply. a 70 watt supply with ordinary cap-input filter and agressive
ride-through spec will fail class 'A' limits at the higher harmonics.

As for the rest of Rich's note---Amen. These idiots have caused a lot of
resource to be wasted and should be accountable in courts of law.......

My opinions only
