     CEMA HOSTS NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED TESTING LABORATORY FAIR
     
        Arlington, Va., July 29, 1998 - To help manufacturers learn more 
     about the resources available to them when complying with engineering 
     standards and regulations, the Consumer Electronics Manufacturers 
     Association (CEMA) is sponsoring the Nationally Recognized Testing 
     Laboratory (NRTL) Fair at the Holiday Inn O'Hare International in 
     Chicago, Sept. 24 and 25, 1998.  The fair is geared toward consumer 
     electronics, commercial audio, telecommunication and information 
     technology product manufacturers.
     
     Representatives from several NRTLs will present their capabilities and 
     qualifications to test products for compliance to safety and EMI/EMC 
     standards.  Presenters will include the Canadian Standards 
     Association, Communication Certification Laboratory, Elite Electronic 
     Engineering, Entela Inc., Intertek Testing Service, KTL Dallas, MET 
     Lab, SGS U.S. Testing Co., TUV Rheinland and Underwriters Laboratories 
     Inc.
     
        An evening networking reception also is planned for Sept. 24.
     Advance registration (before Sept. 1) is $50 for EIA/CEMA/TIA members, 
     $100 for non-members.  On-site registration is $100 for EIA/CEMA/TIA 
     members, $200 for non-members.  Registration information is available
