Hello R. Grant, The Cenelec version of CISPR 22:1997 has been released in September. I believe it has been (provided that no one has submitted protest) offered to the Commission (DG III) for publication in OJEC, it was ratified in the 96th Technical Board meeting in July 1998. It contains the same conducted emission tests as the CISPR 22, and the relaxation of 10 dB shall be reviewed 3 years from "dow" as the latest. "dow" : 2001-08-01, this will probably be the day the new version will become mandatory. I know a number of manufacturers of high-speed LAN network adapters (100 MB Ethernet), who are a bit "nervous" if they can comply with these new requirements. As far as I know the ISN's specified in CISPR 22 are not available yet. Best regards Helge Knudsen Jyske EMC Denmark hknud...@jyske-emc.com

Section 9.5 provides the procedures for making such measurements. Alternative methods are suggested involving Impedance Stabilization Networks and Current Probes. All types of cables are covered (e.g. balanced/unbalanced, screened/unscreened, single pair/multiconductor, etc.). Has a CENELEC version of CISPR22-1997 been released or drafted? If not released yet, when is it expected? When would it be expected to be communicated by the Commission, and when would it become mandatory? Does it contain a requirement for conducted emissions on signal lines? Does anyone have any particular concerns regarding compliance with this standard? Thanks in advance. R.
