In response to my note that I disagree with LAN's and Ethernet ports
being telecommunications ports I received this response from a friend and
associate. Because he did not send it to all of us I have just cut his
comments out in order to protect his privacy, but I thought the note
important and that it should be forwarded.

The RBOCs have interpreted "Telecommunications Port" for the
Intrabuilding
test to include Ethernet and Lan. Therefore, if you have one of these you
need to do 4.5.9. If you spec. shielded cables and shielded grounded
connectors you meet the exemption and don't need to do the test.

Obviously, I disagree, and would run the tests only because they are
a customer requirement and believe that the RBOC's out to stick to their own
documents and interpretations.

Out on a limb again - Gary
