Dear Group,
I am trying to find some guidance regarding the maximum allowable
weight of a product for a single person to self install. IEC950 and
it's offspring (UL1950, EN60950, etc.) all quote that 18kg is the
maximum weight for a moveable piece of equipment. However IT products
such as laser printers can weigh more than 18kg. Is it the
manufacturers responsibility to advise the purchaser that a product
weighs xx kg and therefore 2 people are required to lift the product
out of the box?
Also does this vary from country to country.
