I am doing a graduate research project on the ESD opportunities that exist in the telecom market, specifically cell phones and laptops that have LCD's which are affected by ESD. Is this a market to look into, and what are the requirements and trends that you see going on? What materials or solutions are currently being used to address ESD problems in these systems, and are they they working? Lastly, is ESD a factor that is considered when designing EMI shielding solutions?

I would appreciate any insight you may have. Thanks!
