I am searching for potential design solutions for Network Interfaces (Token Ring & Ethernet) related to the new EN 55022: 1998 Conducted Emissions Telecom requirements. We are performing the measurements on various network interfaces using Category 5 cabling and ISNs. Are designers able to reduce the emissions using external low frequency ferrites (common mode or differential mode) on the interface cables or are designers adding additional filtering at the board level or ....?
Is anyone involved in the design of Token Ring Network systems, that can tell me how much filtering can be added to a board interface without corrupting the communications? I would appreciate any feedback regarding potential design techniques.
