Hello again, I am in need of some assistance from those that are familiar with the requirements of both of the above safety standards.
I have a vendor seeking to provide a power supply which is approved to EN60204-1, so says the DofC. Now, as I am not familiar with this standard at all, would this power supply be acceptable against the requirements of EN60950, which our products comply with? My first guess would be no, as I fear that transformer construction will certainly be an issue, for one. To that end, would it, in fact, be acceptable? If not acceptable and for my education, then what deficiencies might be expected for such a power supply to comply with the requirements of EN60950 (quick bullets should do just fine)? Maybe I'll just make the vendor provide a power supply that's certified to EN60950 and be done with it. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated Best regards, Ron Pickard [email protected] ------------------------------------------- This message is from the IEEE EMC Society Product Safety Technical Committee emc-pstc discussion list.
