Gunter, We have an Agilent E7404A from the same family of Spectrum Analyzers. We have used it as a general EMI and signal integrity diagnostic tool. We have not run the built-in EMI pre-compliance reports. We like the fact that it is a digital instrument which is an improvement over the previous generation of analyzers. The digital design allows faster warm up times, more flexibility over allowable spans and bandwidths, and the built-in hard drive and floppy drive allow capture of data in a variety of formats for use in reports, or in further processing of the data. The built-in preamp is a convenient feature. Using previous models often required an external preamp and getting the gain factors right was always a pain. The ability to switch between AC or DC coupling is a feature that we find nice.
