Dear All,
For a power supply being tested to meet Canadian requirements we were asked to conduct a 40 A for 4 minutes earthing test because the power supply was tested for oveload/shorts on a branch circuit of 20 A. Does this value of 40 A and time of 4 mins. make sense? I believe the requirement is derived from CSA C22.2 No. 0.4 (Grounding and Bonding Equipment) - but I always thought test is done at 30A for 2 minutes. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
