Subject: US requirements - radio equipment

Hi all,

When introducing a radio system into the US marked, we assume that the EMC,
electrical safety and human RF exposure issues have to be sorted out (read:
testing and certification according to FCC, UL, CSA, etc ...)

1. Are there other US requirements we should have in mind ? dangerous
materials, etc.....
2. If a radio system can be used as a land based system and a maritime
system, are the requirements equal ?
3. Who are the maritime authorities in US ? US navy ?

Best regards
Amund Westin
