If they but knew... when one's employer wisely refuses to tie compliance to a single-sourced part, that part is ruled off-limits then and forever -- or until the EMI engineers find a second source in a new product data sheet. Standardized beads -- R, X and *size* -- would save a lot of engineering time and hassle. I've often had to write a part number request noting in LARGE letters that A is a sub for B -- AND NOT THE REVERSE. Aargh.
